These large-scale spray-painted pieces are part of my ongoing Leaf Illuminations series. Some of these paintings date back to the early stages of the project in 2024, while others are my most recent creations. Each of them holds a special place in my heart.
I’m thrilled to be participating in the “Bites & Brushstrokes” event with MILA by the White Apron and I believe it’s the perfect venue to have these on display. I hope this event brings you joy as you enjoy delicious food and wonderful art.

This painting is made with dark charcoal and gold aerosol paint on a gallery-wrapped canvas. It captures that moment when twilight turns to dusk, and you realize you’re enveloped in darkness and searching for the remaining sources of light to guide you home.
You can see the visible fingerprints and marks I intentionally left to emphasize the human touch and that feeling of grasping for direction. The branches and leaves represent how nature reaches out to connect with the light, too, with the gold-painted leaves shining like lanterns and bringing them together.

A large oak tree branch sprawls across the canvas, brought to life through bursts of rich black spray paint. This piece captures presence and scale, reaching upward and outward.

Through the Looking Glass was made by layering real branches and leaves over a canvas and spray painting them to capture their silhouettes. Each layer builds on the last, creating a kind of visual residue of the natural world.
